[jed_blurb_text]Europe imports 80% of its raw materials. Its greatest future uncertainty is not the economic situation in Greece but the availability and price of raw materials and the finiteness of the global supplies. If we preserve our resources, we maintain our prosperity. If we maintain our prosperity, we can continue to invest in sustainability and in allies, such as Greece.

In order for the EU to be powerful and sustainable in the future, it should minimise its resource dependency and maximise its resource recovery. Contrary to common belief, recycling is not closing the loop. Most recycling processes require the addition of virgin raw materials, generally derived from non-renewable (finite) sources.

Therefore we need to go beyond recycling and start with upcycling.
(and that’s exactly what we do!)
